A Commentary on Catholic Catechism Articles
Paragraph 57
God's Views on Globalization
But beneath all of that, I'm not sure too many Catholics understand that this really is a moral issue...one not always talked about in religion class or any other class. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever heard it discussed, except for in the way it is hinted at in the catechism quote above.
One of the things we should remember is that it was God who split men into nations. This wasn't a natural evolution. People didn't just drift apart and change their language, hair colors, skin colors, and physical features. The guys in the desert didn't suddenly decide it was too warm and decide to move to the icy, cold land up north.
God split them. And it wasn't to help populate the planet. It was to stop men from conspiring against Him.
People (as groups) have a habit of tee-tottering between God and Satan. A nation will honor God for hundreds of years with charity and a strong moral code embraced as either civil or societal law. Then it will turn right around and start killing babies before they've even had a chance to take their first breath.
God knew this all along, and after the first flood, He separated them so there would always be a place for His people to honor Him and grow in grace.
The globalization we're seeing right now is exactly what God had put a stop to in the Old Testament. Men are not cooperating for the common good...they are conspiring against God. They're not even trying to hide their blatant attacks on morality. The agenda is abortion, euthanasia, perversion, and nature worship. Everything that is contrary to Catholic doctrine.
What scares me right now, is the fact that our economy (on a global level) is falling apart. And since more and more Americans have begun to support globalization, the solution that the new administration tries to offer will probably be a global one. For the sake of peace and economic stability, people will embrace it. After all, it was for this reason that Americans (even Catholics) elected a man who promised to support the murder of babies.
We need to protect US sovereignty. We need to protect our freedom. But even more so, we need to keep nations from uniting in their evil. Pray for a divided world...it was what God intended.
