In explaining the parable of the talents, many people seem to seize on the word "talent". They explain that it means we're supposed to use our talents (skills, abilities, etc.) for God's work, which means the good of the world.
Watching over us? All the time? What a chilling thought. When we were kids, the last thing we wanted was a parent on our backs. And we would have just died knowing that our parents had seen us ___________. Fill in the blank with whatever makes you blush. I myself could fit an awful lot into that little space.

He sees Jesus in danger, and throws himself into battle without a thought for his own safety. At this point, you can’t help but think of Peter as a man of action. A soldier for Christ. But hours later, he’s so frightened that he can’t even admit to knowing Jesus.
